Europe 2010

I had the pleasure of traveling with Tuba Skinny of New Orleans through Europe this Summer. The band was invited to play at the Vitoria Jazz Festival as the official Street Band (as in, we were hired to busk!). We played twice a day for the week of the festival and enjoyed wonderful audiences, concerts and culture.
Here is an interesting (if not totally confusing) article about us from a local paper. There are a number of videos on YouTube from the week, too.
Here is one that shows not just Tuba Skinny, but highlights from the whole concert. It begins and ends with us...

We were invited on the final night of the festival to play on the big stage before Paco de Lucia Spain's most well known and cherished Flamenco guitarist. The venue was sold out to approxamately 4,000 people!

From Vitoria we went to Berlin and played throughout Kreuzberg at the Turkish Market and the flea market at Boxhagener Platz.
We also played shows at Soul Cat, Room 77 and Fuchs und Elster (Fox and Magpie).

Following our week in Berlin we headed to the very tiny tiny town of Herrang that was taken over by tons and tons of swing dancers from around the world. All of whom were attending the Herrang Dance Camp from Herrang we headed to beautiful (if rainy) Stockholm where we enjoyed a couple of good busking sessions. I haven't found any video clips from those sessions, but if I do I will post them!

Although I am not a regular member of Tuba Skinny, I hope to maintain musical and personal relationships with these great friends.
